i engage mainly with figure and ground, which often have converged and diminished qualities. the multiple perspectives present in my paintings involve recombining, trimming, penetrating and exploding vignettes of urban and suburban life, creating explanatory scenes that attempt to both illuminate and confound. by playing with both dualities – how nature and the human spirit meets architecture, the language of the environment becomes unearthed and the basis of all existential happenings become schematized.
